Launching an Online Business is Hard Work.

The best thing I can do is be honest about my experience in the online business world.

Many people selling courses or eBooks will write about how easy it is to make money online.

Just sign up for Shopify or Ghost. Add your Stripe account. Create your product. And click publish. Then wait for people to start paying you lots of cash.

Only it doesn't work that way.

Yes, the technology is easier than ever and the friction for being an online creator is almost zero these days. We can literally launch a new side hustle in as little as 10 minutes and for almost no investment.

But for every 100 people who start, 99 will fail.

Launching a successful online business takes a lot of hard work but the "experts" selling their advice won't tell you that. Why?

Because you won't buy their shit if you really know just how much work it takes to make any money in the digital space – let alone the lofty six figure dream often being sold.

No one really wants to suffer to success. Am I right???

A quick story of success and failure.

I was one of the very first online creators selling digital products and courses before most people could truly understand the power of the internet.

My journey into blogging started back in 2005 and I built a huge audience writing about a variety of niche topics. This turned into speaking gigs across the country where I shared my "secrets" to other solopreneurs. Then I launched my own digital products, ebooks, and online coaching.

Everything was perfect according to the online money playbook. I followed the blueprints and the experts advice.

Wanna know how many times I made more than six figures in a year?

Just once.

Yeah, that's the absolute truth!

After a decade of writing and hustling and producing, I personally was only able to cross that magical threshold one fucking time.

Now before you assume I just sucked at what I offered - and rightly so - it's important to state that I helped other people and companies make millions of dollars using the same knowledge and skills I used for my own ventures.

So I know it works.

And while there's a lot to be said for my personal business failures, it had nothing to do with my offerings, a lack of interest from buyers, the tech stack, or even customer support.

I honestly just didn't want to do all the hard work.

There was very little commitment to building and growing a business on my behalf. I just wanted it to be easy, passive income. And ultimately it was a race to welfare.

Why is this important to you?

You have to understand that most of what you read about making six figures online is absolute bullshit. There's no magic bean or secret formula to help you earn a passive income. It's just not easy like some people present it.

Telling you otherwise is a great disservice to you and your dreams.

However.

If you have the drive to be a success and you're willing to put in the hard work, there is a way greater chance you'll achieve your financial goals. You'll probably make money online. Of course you still have to sell something people want to buy, but it's doable.

So that's my online business building truth for today.
