Hotel Review: Comfort Suites Helena, Montana.

If you're traveling towards Helena Lewis and Clark National Forest, you might want to hotel crash at Comfort Suites Helena. We stopped here for a night on our journey to Glacier National Park and it was great.

We've come to appreciate Choice Hotels due to their accessibility, easy booking, and rewards program. And while not every Choice Hotel property we've stayed in was positive, we've had more success here than any other chain.

Why consider Comfort Suites Helena?

Besides the reasons we stated above, this property was extremely nice and comfortable. It's also in a great location if you're making your way around Montana to visit the national parks. But let's do a breakdown for our Comfort Suites Helena review.

The Location

One of the best perks of this hotel is the centralized location to Glacier National Park, Flathead National Forest, Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest, Yellowstone National Park, and Lewis and Clark National Forest. Of course it's a long drive (approximately 3 hours) to some of these places from Helena, but it gives you some excellent options for a more reasonable price than Kalispell or other towns.

Located at 3180 North Washington St, Comfort Suites Helena is close to plenty of restaurants and sporting good stores. There's a Costo down the street so you can fill up on supplies for cheap. If you need an airport, you're next to that as well.

The Property

Overall the hotel was in very good shape and was well maintained. We're not fans of older, run down properties so we were happy to stay here.

They offer the typical amenities like free WiFi, business center, free hot breakfast, indoor heated pool and hot tub, and a guest laundry facility. There's also bus parking and free airport shuttle service. The hotel even has a 24/7 first aid staff available -- which gladly we did NOT have to use! :)

The Room

Donetta and I chose the Double Queen Bed option so we could spread out and have our own bed. Hey, sometimes a married couple needs a break. LOL!

The room was fantastic and plenty of space for our travel buckets. It was exceptionally clean and cheerful, plus more modern and updated than other Choice Hotels. While we prefer crashing in hotel rooms with a kitchen, this worked for us since it was only a one night stand.

We had a large sectional couch to curl up on to work from, Keurig coffee machine, microwave, and mini-fridge. The TV was smaller but that wasn't what we were there for.

Overall there are no complaints and our stay was uneventful at this location.

The Price

At the time of our stay, Comfort Suites Helena was more "affordable" at $100-$120 per night. Because Helena is one of those towns in the middle of several desirable tourist destinations, you will probably be looking at an average of $150-$200 per night.

Final Thoughts

Other than the increased price fluctuations for the tourism seasons, Comfort Suites in Helena, Montana is a good choice for a hotel. There is plenty to do in town if you have time -- hiking, golfing, shopping, fishing, and more.

We had no problems with this property (unlike Comfort Suites Memphis and others) and overall it was a pleasant stay.
